You know I love just about anything that will teach me ‘how to’ something! I reckon that I discovered at a pretty young age that if someone had already done it – then of course I could do it too. So when I read that there were people who lived till they were 120 years old then in my little mind that became my benchmark for life. And I decided that I was going to live till I was 120!

Then as I grew I started noticing that there were people who were uncomfortable, in pain and really sick who were nowhere near 100 and I again decided that was something I didn’t want my life to be like.

Sometimes as an adult in conversation with others I’d mention that my goal was to live to be 120 and they would stare in disbelief and then – laugh. Right in my face! But the interesting thing is that most people would then just mumble something about not wanting to be100, senile and sick!

At first it surprised me, and then it made me angry! And then as I thought more, it actually made me very sad… These people thought that if you are old then automatically you must be sick – and there wasn’t anything you could do about it! As I looked around I realised that is what most people in our culture really and truly believe. And unfortunately there was a lot of evidence to support that view…

Over 50 means you are more likely to succumb to disease, ill health, pain and senility!

Well, that may be common in our society but it sure ain’t normal!

So even though I didn’t realise it at the time I began a quest. Yes, like a knight of old searching for… truth! Yes, the fountain of youth… err – truth! Why not both? Yes. The truth about youth.

So here I am. Now 53 years old, a wife, a mother and even a grandmother. In the prime of my life and brim full of knowledge and wisdom that I’m longing to share – with YOU! But don’t get me wrong. My journey isn’t over yet, but what pearls I have discovered along the way!

One of the little treasures that I have found along the way is the 80/20 Rule (sometimes known as the Pareto Rule). It seems to apply in an uncanny way to so many things in life. I’m sure you’ve heard it expressed something like this…
“You get 80% of your results from 20% of your efforts.”

But it also applies to people! I heard a marketing guru, Mal Emery, talking about money say,
“5% of people are wealthy & 15% are doing OK.
The remaining 80% are struggling in one way or another.
So that mean 20% of people are winners & 80% are losers!”

Although his choice of words is rather poor, statistically he’s correct (research done by Prudential Insurance Company many moons ago).

What I did find fascinating was his conclusion – that such a statistic shows that most people believe making money is just too hard.

The reason that I found it fascinating is that the same 80/20 rule can be applied to people’s health.

20% of people enjoy excellent health and 80% are struggling in one way or another.

And the same conclusion can probably be made too – that most people believe being healthy is just too hard and so they put up with whatever comes along.

The bottom line with making wealth or making health is that it’s not a matter of technology, tools, opportunity or education – it’s a matter of…
Choice & Behaviour

If you want to be part of the 20% of people who enjoy excellent health then I have a “how-to’ recipe for you:
1.	Study – immerse yourself to understand what creates results
2.	Continual Education – there are new insights & paradigms to be found
3.	Look for Principles – these are the common truths that have survived across many cultures and many years
4.	Choose Mentors who are qualified to teach – not everyone is an expert, even if they work for a big company, university or institution.

And that’s pretty well our purpose here at My Vital Energy Experts. We have pursued each of those steps over the years and are here to share what we’ve found with you. We are not saying that WE are experts. What we are saying is we know where to find them!

So if you are looking for the best kind of shortcut, one where truth isn’t sacrificed just to make money or be popular – then join us!

The race is on – the ‘lucky’ pharmaceutical companies charged with saving mankind from the dreaded swine flu, have developed a vaccine and are now ready to see if it works.

Forgive me if I sound somewhat, well, cynical. But there are a few questions that remain unanswered before I’m willing to jump on the panic wagon…

Do we really need to get vaccinated to prevent dying of swine flu?

This is a question you will need to answer very soon, because the authorities in each country will be pushing mass vaccination programs. The UK government have already said they will vaccinate their whole population, and Germany has plans to start vaccinating their citizens in September.

I would have thought that a vaccination is considered necessary when a disease is causing widespread suffering and even death.

The WHO (World Health Organisation) is warning that the swine flu is the “fastest moving pandemic ever”. Isn’t this reason enough to be vaccinated? Maybe.

There are actually two things that make a disease dangerous – prevalence and virulence. And we don’t seem to be hearing enough about this.

The ‘prevalence’ of a disease is the percentage of people in a population with that disease. And yes, the prevalence of swine flu amongst the population IS becoming very high. Many people have contracted this virus.

The ‘virulence’ of a disease is the measure of the severity of the disease. Our family knows the Australian NRL football player, Ben Hannant, who came down with the swine flu some weeks ago. His comment was that it’s no worse than an average case of the flu and he recovered within a week. And that seems to be the worst that most people are experiencing, some have no more than a slight cold.

Now, according to the WHO (World Health Organisation) for a disease to be considered a pandemic it only has to satisfy the criteria of prevalence, not prevalence AND virulence.

But for a disease to be dangerous it needs to be both prevalent and virulent. And that description does not fit swine flu!

So why are they even bothering to produce a vaccine if the virus is only producing a mild reaction?

The lead time for developing and releasing a vaccination to the market is many years. That usually means the outlay of millions of dollars. So the pharmaceutical companies obviously need to sell their product to as many people as possible to make a decent profit, bless their hearts, otherwise the exercise is pointless.

The faster this Swine Flu vaccine can get to market the more money can be made!

Getting a drug of any sort into the market place in less than 12 months is unheard of. Yet that is exactly what is being done. So logic must dictate that corners have been cut somewhere. The only way we’ll know just what compromises have been made will be in say five years time when we look back and count the real cost.

And just what will we see – unanticipated adverse reactions that cause the immune system to attack the nerves and paralyse the muscles? Or perhaps there’ll be more deaths from the vaccine than the virus itself? If that all sounds far fetched that’s exactly what happened in 1976 in the USA when they first vaccinated against swine flu.

So will I or my family be vaccinated against swine flu?

When pigs fly!
